pájaro del paraíso

My friend Dianne came over this evening porting two beautiful Bird of Paradise blossoms for us to paint as we put our feet in the pool and sipped some wine. This was a perfect way to end the day with a continued good start to the week. Like all friends we easily slipped into conversation and it was nice to 'get it all out' and cleanse myself of the previous week. As our mouths moved our hands sketched and although I don't care for floral I enjoyed this one.
While we chatted away and painted my Dottie (our black lab mutt) availed herself to Dianne's glass of wine and gulped in one swoop! We laughed as Dianne retreated to the kitchen for more. Soon all three of us were feeling quite mellow and content. Dottie is fast asleep, Dianne is back home and I am feeling that the week is off to a great start!

  1. Hey GF, I had such a great time visiting with you today. I miss our time together. Dottie was quite the busy body today and deserves the room spins. I love your flower, the ink added alot. They are great flowers to paint with all their colors and personality. They bloom when it is cool, Autumn is just about here!

Now isn't that what friends are for? Good times, normal times and then those bad times which are made just a little easier with a good friend by your side. I'm glad you had a great toe wetting, mellow wine, three's company evening, with a healthy heartspill. I hope your week will follow in the same footsteps..
I tried your flickroom enlargemant, but I'm at that stage where everything gets zoomed in and out, and I refuse to get some glasses! Will have to get some and leave my vanity for my golden years.
Great sketch, I actually think you could do beautiful florals and would like to see more of them?

I LOVE these flowers! You did this just perfectly, too -- love the way the pink runs into the green, and those multiple, fine, expressive lines. Again -- perfection!
