Today Rudy and I put my boat on top my car and headed out to Newport Beach to the bay.  Rudy rented a boat and I took out my beauty for the first time this summer.  We had so much fun!  We paddled over to Newport Dunes and glided up on the shore and had a wonderful picnic lunch before getting back on the water.  After a couple of hours we headed home with a stop at the kayak store to see the pretty new boats.  Rudy is starting to want his own now so we are looking.  Then we came home to the heat in Riverside, cleaned up the boat and headed to the back yard to have some more water fun in the pool.  We are spent for the day but can't wait to go back out soon!  I had time during our lunch to snap this photo with my iphone and draw my boat.  I'll add color to it tomorrow!

Beautiful down there isn't it? Enjoy the day, you deserve it!

  2. I've been to Newport Beach a couple of times, you're sooo lucky to live in SOCAL! i love the simple line art, stylish!

  3. Sounds like a great day - and it's a really wonderful sketch - so simple and spare, but you really convey a lot of information.

  4. Oh I am so sad we missed you guys, I would have loved to kayak with you guys. It was a beautiful day. We had so much fun all doing that last trip with the kids. I would love to have one also, next week we are in Long Beach and I love to kayak in the harbor. It was so humid down there, I was glad for dry heat when we got back! LOL

  5. The Kayak sounds fun... being in control of your own "vehicle" would be better than being first mate (or third class) on a sail boat-- at least if the Capt. was my exH!! Rest and stay cool.

The kayak looks great so far Marta. I can't wait to see it in colors.

Wow Marta, after colors, it is so vibrant. It looks so ready to leap out of the bay very fast. Fantastic. Ai

Having read your profile, simply had to comment on the wonderful life you lead so full of excitement and activity. I thought I was good enough and fit at my age (much older than yourself) but would never dare take a boat down to our Norfolk Broads river passing through the village - instead we hire an electric boat for visitors to explore the Broads - no work just peaceful viewing around the broads (lakes) and villages. Enjoyed your artworks.
