On Sunday I had every intention of spending the day in the studio working on a project for an art exchange I am in with some online friends. I was honored to be invited but with that comes the apprehensiveness of "my stuffs not that good" "what did I get myself into?" "someone really wants something I created?" "what if I can't meet the deadline?" etc.... And now with two art classes going even more procrastinating. But on the other hand, I excited about participating and have already received two wonderful pieces (I'll post soon). But, back to Sunday. Well we all know that I opted for the beach with the little ones and off I went!
Tuesday then was going to be my studio day! Yes, finally a day to myself! But Rudy surprised me that he was off till Friday this week. That's okay, I'll run errands with him in the morning and work in the studio in the afternoon. I was prepared, had gotten my supplies together the night before, stopped for what I need from the grocery store....good to go.
But as I walked in the house the phone rang and my niece Allison asked if I wouldn't mind watching the baby because Aidan was running a high fever and she was running to the doctor's with him. Of course I could help her out! So, no studio afternoon as I had planned. But the baby is a joy and I loved getting to spend time with him. He soon dozed off to sleep and I put him up on the big ottoman, grabbed my moleskine wc sketchbook and went to work. Well, he woke up crying but by then I had just about finished the little sketch.
So maybe tomorrow I can get to my project?
Beautiful my friend!
You're good a multi-tasking, Marta! This is a very sweet sketch of a very sweet little bundle. Really, I think babies take precedence over brushes any day.
This is super sweet. A baby sketch is priceless. What exchange project are you talking about? Is it on Wetcanvas? Pls. let me know next time. I'd love to exchange an art card with you.
Sometimes it's okay when life gets in the way of our schedule. This is precious.
He's darling--a sweet diversion.
And, this someone definitely wants something you created! ;-)
ahhhh, that happens to me too, have something planned but the little ones come first! That is a gorgeous watercolor. I need to come back soon to catch up.
What a beautiful moment you have captured - your generosity and help provided you with a chance moment you didnt dream of having. A gentle piece for a beautiful baby.
Aaww! So cute. It would be alright to put on hold your art work while taking car of the baby:)
Nice drawing of the baby.
For storing, shipping, packing, crating and installing fine art and antiques.
What a great little sketch! I get frustrated sometimes when family schedules interrupt my art time, but then remember how happy I am to have family that I love -- and know that the family is the first priority!
:-) You sound like you had FUN interruptions!
That sketch is so beautiful, Marta! Who needs to work in the studio when you have such a gorgeous model to work from?
It's great that you were able to catch him napping! This is so lovely!!!
Dylan dreaming is an absolutely beautiful sketch. I love the colors and the softness of his bedding. I've had no luck getting into the studio the past week either but yippee I have a few days without other plans (so far anyway!).
Marta,
gostei muito do seu blog.
Lindas suas aquarelas!
Adorável "Dylan" e
