This is just a quick study I did this evening. I am not going to add any color to it now, perhaps later. The day was cold and misty with a bit of drizzle toward the end of daylight. I cooked the meat for the tamales today and began to wash the 'hojas' (corn husks). I also found some time late in the afternoon to bake my applesauce loaf which I have made every year since I was about 12 years old, while Rudy and Adam finished decorating the tree (wait till you see it!). Tomorrow begins three very busy days making tamales, baking, finishing up with housework culminating in the grand party on Sunday evening for family and friends. As for my holiday shopping. I didn't do any this year. I published my tamale recipe book and will give it to the ladies in my family on Sunday. For my one year old grand-nephew we got a little people barnyard and animals and for my Annie (grand-niece) I bought her sketching supplies and a gift certificate redeemable to me for weekly art lessons in my studio. You HAVE to get little kids a gift! Now, back to warm myself by the fire.

How warm and cozy and loving your pre-Christmas days sound - I am glad all is right in your household and head (after the funk you caught) and I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a blessed new year!!
Looks so lovely Marta, the stockings look so traditional.
Muchos saludos y abrazos,
Claudia
I love this sketch. . . it's so free and loose without losing it's perspective, a VERY FINE JOB you've done!! Oh yum, tamales!! Your Christmas sounds blessed already.
I love this warm and cozy sketch. It was nice to hear of someone else who didn't do any shopping. I wish I had a fireplace. I was thinking about taking the front off my gas wall heater and calling it a fireplace but that's probably not a good thing to do.
I adore those socks by the fireplace! I like this one just in line, it looks great. From next year there will be no shopping in this house either, everybody has been warned and actually everyone was in accord!
