Hot Pink Socks!

Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 6:50 PM
My bountiful bosom has always made a good shelf.  The rain has kept all activity indoors this weekend.  Did venture out to the movies to see Atonement.  Good movie and followed the book well.  But I was anxious to come home after a dinner at California Pizza Kitchen to work on my socks.  Sock no. 1 is done and no. 2 will be done by tomorrow evening.  Aren't they pretty?  No sketching happening today.

  1. haha... ok, the picture is almost scary, like you've been impaled with that knitting needle but the sock is gorgeous. I posted a pic of Sophia who is inhabiting the studio again. What was the other name you had for her?? Also a pic of my painting that's in progress... two little ones of rocks and water in the works too but not liking them much yet. Tricia

I don't remember another name for Sofia, but I forget a lot of things lately. She looks a bit ragged and in need of something new. We need to work on that for our next visit. Too bad we can't hand blow a mini wine glass for her!
I didn't want to get the camera out so I used the photo booth function on my imac....it does look scary!

  3. What size needles are you using? When I use 2's or 3's, there's no way I can do a sock in an evening! They will be wonderful, that's for sure!

That is wonderful! True modern version of knitting.
I am knitting a pair. I had not done socks since a little girl. They are on the needles. But put aside. Why? The class I signed up for was for personal attention. Yeah! 14 people and one teacher and then I had to purchase a kit, even if I did not want the kit. It is the use two circular needles and finish both socks at once.
The class was teaching the method with one circular needle and I wanted to do it with dps. Then, We were forced to knit a sock for Wee Faeries. Microscope please. I simply felt like I wasted another $200.00 in time and money. I never do well at these crazy classes. Yes, I am going to have some ladders- so what first time in a
long time. I also put thread on dps for another pair to try and get over the depression. Your modern ample holding shelf as inspired me.
You should or your friend should paint the picture.
(yeah! You have saved me from going to a crazy class somewhere out west. Thanks ever so much.)

    Ha! Ha!

Funny girl! I love knitting socks - at least the first one, the second seems to take forever, and then I always for get that toe binding - I have to admit me knitting has taken a back shelf since EDM - Cool color too.

:-D This is hilarious! Sometimes our built in shelves do come in handy...
I can knit but just don't have the patience to actually DO it, so I am FULL of admiration for those of you who do.

I'm new to your blog and just love it. Your socks look great! I also love to knit and recently got involved with sketching. Will be taking my first pen and ink class at our Arts Center here on the island next month.
So I plan to add your blog to mine and come back here and visit you often.
I just love your sketches....if I can develop half that talent, I'll be happy! They're really lovely.
