In Memory: Benazir Bhutto

Inspired by my friend Laura from Lauralines who painted a beautiful tribute to this charismatic lady, I too took comfort in the quiet of my studio and my graphite sticks.

In Memory: Benazir Bhutto
graphite sticks on 50# sketch paper  18x24 inches

I am always so saddened when hope is extinguished.

I am also very sad about this today. I have a good friend in Pakistan, who I went to art school in Sydney with about 3 years ago. I am afraid for what this will mean for Pakistan.

This drawing is a great likeness.

    Lovely, Marta...well done.

  3. Wow. You really were inspired - this is really wonderful. Just like Wendy - I am so frightened by what may come now.

I am so sadden by this senseless loss. I wish She had stayed out of Pakistan. I sadden that exPatriot Pakistan, are blaming the U.S.A. and President Bush.
I know there are those who think, We should babysit all peoples and make them Americans. We cannot. Pakistan is responsible for Benazir's death. Her blood is own their Hands. It is will never wash off.
Your portrait Marta is beautiful. I hope mine is liked as well. I am doing a memorial to Benazir. It will start on January 8th. A portrait a day in oils, for one whole year. I feel such a great loss with Her death.
I feel so thankful! I have found your blog.
It is always exciting. How were those tamales?
