Open Studio

The studio is now open.  The flow of creativity should begin soon as all supplies are close at hand, yet neatly stored.  In this space I can draw, paint, read, watch television, work on my computer, listen to music, do yoga, make sketchbooks, knit socks, make quilts, sleep and dream.

mARTa's B & B

Located in sunny southern California, mARTa's Studio is just a little over an hour away from so. California's best sights and attractions.  Within a short time you can be splashing on the shores of some of the Pacific Coast's best beaches or be playing in the snow in the local San Bernardino Mountains.  Maybe a desert oasis surrounded by majestic palm trees is your dream or visiting some of the country's best museums in Los Angeles, Orange or San Diego areas.  And of course Disneyland is less than an hour away.

The studio is a spacious 12x12 foot room which can accommodate two people with a double sofa bed, wi-fi Internet access, radio and television.  All bedding and linens provided.  Bathroom down the hall with tub/shower combo.  Breakfast consists of freshly squeezed Blood Orange juice (when in season), a pot of hot coffee and assortment of breads and pastries.  Champagne and chocolate on request for certain guests (Casey).  Also for your pleasure the jacuzzi is open year round and the swimming pool is warm enough from May through October.  And for friends like Gabi, come on now, little kids can sleep downstairs on the floor!

The best part of staying at mARTa's B&B studio is that it is totally free of charge!!!!  Only condition is that I get to tag along for all the fun!  We can go sketch, paint plein air, shop, eat, shop, take day trips, shop and take a break for massages at the day spa!

Several weeks notice is required so I can get the time off work!!!

So Casey, Ronell, Sandy, Deborah, Robyn, Sharon, Anita, Gabi, Wendee, Sherrie, Knitting Painter Woman and Natalie..... Come on over!!!

Marta, You are just so funny but I am going to take you very seriously! Put me down for sometime in January. Let me know your schedule and we will find a few days to finally get together. Have a wonderful Christmas and don't eat too many tamales!

You know Marta, I'm a California girl (Monterey) transplanted to rainy Oregon and I may just take you up on this some day. The room looks just lovely, but I think the best part would be spending time with you - your exuberance for life shines through in all your posts. (BTW - No pressure, but ahem...where's that tamale recipe? My daughter said if we BBQ and pull the pork, she'll assemble the tamales when she's here next weekend...)

  7. el estudio te ha quedado magnífico! aw, i miss SoCal - did I tell you we lived not far from you in Palm Springs a few years ago?

Wow! this is so tempting! I get to choose my vacation the end of May! Ohhhh La La! (only, I no longer drive.) I will go anywhere-we do not have to consume Sage, or be stung by bees or wasp, since my lips itched the last time I popped a couple of Cashews, I have not tempted fate.
    But this is so inviting.
I hope everyone that is close enough to come over do and enjoy all the fun and **** Definitely report back and show the sketches and fun and everything.

Marta, you studio looks just wonderful, cosy and snug...all your hard work paid off! I do hope I'll get the opportunity to stretch out on that bed!! And then I hope there'll be tamales and sangria and a trip to your famous spa, lots of eating and laughter and sketching and seeing it on your computer! Enjoy your studio!

  13. What a delightful invitation, Marta! Your studio looks wonderful and it sounds like the kitchen is 5 star too. I'm starting to save up right now but you just better cross your fingers that Dermott doesn't get wind of this invitation! ;)
