Studio Chaos

This cloud is slowly lifting.  Yesterday I spent the day with my friends Dianne and Dawn shopping, eating, sipping champagne and eating chocolate while lounging in bathrobes.  We began the day by shopping the boutiques in downtown Riverside, then having a lovely lunch at Las Campanas and then finishing off the day at the day spa relaxing in the jacuzzi, enjoying the bubbly and getting total body massages with hand & foot treatments also.  As we were leaving to go home Dianne spotted a black cat sitting on a car hood in front of us.  I knew then that it must be a bad omen and the bad luck I've had lately was not going to go away soon.  But alas...today was a good day and I accomplished a great feat!  I tackled the studio and it's clutter; filling 6 trash bags with things I no longer used, wanted or needed.  Next a pile of art supplies that I hope somebody wants or else they go out too!  I eliminated 2 bookcases from the studio so I had to eliminate a lot of stuff!!!  I found that there is a lot of space under the sofa bed so that is where my large sheets of paper are going.  Larger boxes in the closet downstairs.  I am just about finished with it and it will soon be open for creativity and creative guests!

There is just nothing that compares with tackling something that's "chaotic" and arranging order from it and when there are garbage bags involved, the better! Throwing away cleanses inside out! hope we'll see your studio when it's done, it looks warm and cozy

  3. OK - I'm definitely going to find a way to go visit you, Marta - and culd we spend the day getting massages and drinking champagne please? It sounds delicious....Congratulations on de-cluttering your studio too - I wish I could make myself do the same.

I am sure you are feeling better now with a re-organized studio. I had a couple of ladies over to monoprint and "had" to clean up to make space but I really need to do what you did. What a pain about the wallet...so sorry. If you need more cheering up I could definately come for a visit!

  5. Sounds like the treatment for your Black Dog is working, Marta. Your studio is a palace compared with mine! And like Casey, I'm thinking: Marta's got a guest room, she serves chocolate, champagne and day spas. Very Interesting....... ;)

I don't mean to whine, but I could REALLY use a spa day with champagne and chocolate right now, too. It would be the perfect antidote to holiday overload, which is what I'm feeling...oh, and I wouldn't mind a spiffy studio, either. It sounds like a wonderful little Chistmas gift for yourself, Marta. Good for you!

Must be the time of year, but I just did a major reorg of my studio space also, it was alot of work but so satisfying. It's almost, almost done and I'm enjoying it so much.

Your studio looks wonderful. I loved seeing the portraits on the wall--they look really good. Isn't it great getting rid of stuff! I felt so good taking things to Goodwill. I still have two bags of books in my car and another bookshelf to go through and then I can haul them down to the used book store.
