Figure Drawing and Drinks

Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 10:09 PM
Tonight was the monthly life drawing session at RAM (Riverside Art Museum). Dianne and I were running a bit late for dinner so we got to the museum , set up and enjoyed drawing/painting for a couple of hours. But since we hadn't eaten dinner we left a bit early and headed to the Mission Inn to "Las Campanas" for drinks and dinner.
We had such a good time! The evening was perfect for dinning outdoors, the drinks satisfying but most of all the conversation and camaraderie wonderful! We spent as much time over drinks and dinner as we did at the art museum! This is my best from tonight. It's graphite stick with watercolor on 1/2 sheet hot press 90# Arches paper.

  1. Very nice work, Marta - and congratulations for managing to work with watercolor during a life session - I find that sooo difficult, but you've done it well!

  2. This is so lovely Marta...has a dreamy romantic air! You're doing great with color on your figure drawings.
Las Camanas seems like a real hotspot on art evening!!

    Marta,
Your painting is quite wonderful - love the skin tones, but especially the fact that I actually looked at the hair it is done so well.

Well first off, hubby and I were out in Riverside yesterday and ate at Bella Trattoria at Mission Inn. It was a toss up between the Mexican and the Italian. We had such a great day. I have lots of spoon art photos from the restaurant I've got to get too now. I love your drawing and I didn't know the museum offered life drawing opportunities.

Boy! Some day I would love to hear from you all about what is available in our areas for art classes, etc...

  7. I love this one - colour, line, everything. What a triumph bringing something as beautiful as this away from a life class.
