It seems like a lot of us (EDM and blogger artists) are under an uncreative spell. That's ok because with summer have come long days with so much to fill them up with. Some people are traveling, some enjoying summer harvest keeping busy in the kitchen and some of us just want to lay by the pool and keep cool.
But I couldn't let another day go by without doing a little drawing and painting. With no other inspiration than my own hand I did this little watercolour sketch this evening. It is a good feeling to get out the paints and play for awhile.
My month has had many changes and with so much going on it is hard to get the creative juices flowing again. I have made a serious effort to get back into shape by joining the local gym and watching what I eat. Already after a month I am on a good road to success and enjoying the new me. I have also been pampering myself with manicures and pedicures twice a month. Our two boys have moved in for the summer so the house is alive again with the boys here...we are enjoying it. Tomorrow my sister and her brood arrive from Albuquerque, New Mexico for a 10 day visit....I can't wait to spoil kids!
So, for now, I'll keep lounging poolside, working as little as possible and enjoying the summer with family and friends. Oh, and sketching and painting as time permits!

Just loving those purple tones across the middle of the fingers Marta.
My left hand doesn't do any of these things either but it does hold my coffee which is the most important art tool afterall! ;)
Marta,
Your hand painting is wonderful! What a way to break out of an "uncreative spell." Send me your secrets for skin color paints!
MARTA! I LOVE LOVE THIS!! THE COLOR WASHES ARE SO PERFECT!!!!! THEY SING!
Great hand even if it doesn't do much ;>) Wonderful colors and writing.
I love this little expose of an idle hand - and agree, the watercolour washes are beautiful.
Well done on your get fit plan!
I really like this Marta. sandy
This hand also Poses quite well - I think I may have one of those too!! Stay cool
Lovely! I really love your loose technique and use of color.
Good for you Marta! Enjoy your summer any way you like for as long as it lasts - there is a whole winter ahead with nothing to do but stay in and sketch.
LOVE the blue shadows and the loose sketchy line work on this drawing. Your left hand may not be able to do all the things your right can, but I'd wager your right would be lost without it. ;-)
oh, and btw, your patriotic toes are fantastic!
Beautiful, Marta. Those colors are gorgeous.
Love the style and colors in your lazy left hand.
Marta, I love the pinks and blues in this hand! Wonderful choice of color-- hope you are having a blast with the family!
Great sketch and I just love the colors you used and your commentary.
