Miss Gracie c. late 1990s
half sheet Arches watercolour 140lb. cp

This is an email I received from my niece Grace who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico:
Nina.I want to know the price of that painting of me on your website posted under nieces because I really want it!
Love gracie

And part of my response:

I love the watercolor of you I painted when you were a baby. You were only 1 year old; almost 2. You were sitting at my studio table painting a picture! I took a photo of you and then I painted the portrait from it. I am not going to ever sell it to you. I would like it if one day we can put it in a mat and frame and then it will be yours. But framing is a little expensive so that's why I haven't done it yet. But that painting has ALWAYS belonged to YOU!

All of us mommies, grandmas, aunties and daughters......wishing all a very ...

Happy Mother's Day

  1. I was mighty impressed with what one of the "giclee" companies did with one of my sheep paintings. If you don't want to part with the watercolor AND want darling neice to have a copy..... (They weren't very expensive... you just send them a jpeg!!)

  2. Sandy Says:

Hey GF, I haven't been able to stop by your blog and just look around in some time. Your drawings are wonderful and I love the painting of your niece. I will be leaving in 2 days but I wanted to let you know how nice it was to have you spend Mothers Day with us! You are a great addition to our family, even though you are trying to be the bad influence! The day was wonderful, it was so good to have Amy there too! She is so cute! Hope your week goes great, I will call you when I get home!
