I'm not one for flowers. I love them...smell them, display them in vases, have some in the yard...but paint them? In case you can't tell what these are, they are a little bunch of sweetpeas I picked during yesterday's morning walk. Yes, I picked them from someones side yard, hoping it was early enough that I didn't get caught. I just love the smell of sweetpeas! Comments please, which of the two appeals more to you, if they appeals at all?
Ok, here's the thing. When I find myself immersed in my art I begin to gain weight. It creeps up on me like a slow growing vine. Not too noticeable at first but by the time my clothes are a bit too snug I am see it in the mirror as well. So, can an artist be in good shape and still be productive? I sure hope so! I began this week with morning walks and watching what I eat. Really watching, like counting fat and calories and drinking lots of water. I have gone down this road before so I know if I stick with it in a few months I'll be back to being comfortable with myself. Maybe what I have to do is incorporate sketching into my get fit plan. Carry the sketchbook with me on walks, draw my food intake for the day, eat my pencil...well, maybe not.
Hi Marta,
well I prefer the flowers without the dark background. Theses flowers look much more delicate and the glass looks more delicate too - more see-through! That´s what I like about the second pic.... it shows the flowers and the material glass much more the way I see it.
So beautiful Marta...can't believe you don't enjoy doing flowers! And I could see right aways what they are. They are both beautiful, it is hard to choose one..There is a delicacy inb the one without the background that I like, so I think maybe I'll go for the first one without the background...it has nice transparency.

Both are lovely, Marta, but I also prefer the one without the background simply because I like the transparencey of the jar a bit better.
Wow, again, similarities - I love sweet peas and pick them in others yards. I also think as I get into my art that I am distracted from food, but NO I eat blindly and get no exercise - BUT I do love flowers and Try to paint them, waiting for my flowers to come up and Try again - You are so diverse and these recent entries show your talent beautifully.
I also like the one with the white background. I think it is cleaner looking, and doesn't compete with your lovely flowers!
And NO. I don't think we can be artists and be thin. At least that's MY excuse ...
;-)
Definately the one on the right. Fabulous paintintg. I've really enjoyed this visit to your blog (I think the first time I've been here). You have some really lovely work.
