Weekend with sketchbook in hand

Thank you all for such inspiring kudos on the left hand sketch which finally got me back to sketching. I challenged myself this weekend by drawing some of my family members while we all were camping at the local regional park: Jurupa Regional Park, Riverside, CA. I have my body proportions all over the place and I didn't really get a likeness of any of them; but I sketched and played with the colors and enjoyed the laughter, food and the bonding that was going on with the New Mexico cousins reacquainting themselves with the California cousins. But, I'm sure glad the weekend is over and I can sleep in my own bed tonight!

These relative sketches are great, loose and lively - I would love to have a chance to try to randomly sketch like this - must find a way to make it happen . . .

These sketches are great and I imagine you are so glad to have your space back.

  3. I enjoyed looking at the extended family sketches... no matter how they turn out, when you look at them they will help bring back the memories and 'feel' of it.

These are all great sketches! Looks like a fun time was had by all, and the sketching will help you remember those small details in the future!
