Another week has come and gone.  This week we had a very large model.   Contrary to what you'd think would be the perfect opportunity to draw voluptuous forms, I found it hard to do.  There was just so much mass that it was difficult to try and locate key structures such as hip bones.   We actually had two models last Monday.  The second was a young black girl with lovely forms.  Our instructor also gave us a portrait drawing demo which was very good.  We worked on portraits several times this week.  We really had a challenging week in figure drawing class!   You can click on the above photo to see the rest of the weeks drawings.

Marta, I think you did a wonderful job with the large model. Her form looks believable and balanced.
Wish I was on this course with you!

Just went to your Flick'r slideshow - WOW! what an amazing amount of work you've done. You must be really pleased - and working very hard. Love the Klimt nude second master drawing.

  3. That's interesting. I just saw a movie called Naked on the Inside, a documentary about several people with body "issues" - a mastectomy survivor, a transgender person, a man with no legs and a very very large woman who models. I think it's probably good to really understand all body types. Love your figure studies.

Pls. give yourself a stand-up ovation. I love your figure sketches, especially the volumineous one. I think you have taken the class and do so well.
