orangecrest sports complex

small moleskine watercolour sketchbook 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.

While on a walk this warm and sunny February morning I stopped to rest on a bus stop bench and to sketch the view of Mt. Baldy from the Sports Complex at Orange Terrace Community Park in our Orangecrest neighborhood. The mountains around so. california are all covered in snow from last weeks storms. Soon the sun will melt it all away but for now they are breathtaking.

Hi! Marta: Wonderful! My son was here right after Christmas. He bought me two moleskine wc sbks. The small and a large. A most generous gift.
I have not taken the paper off. I see I will have to brave the cold- 13degrees F.- and do some sketching . Will sketch on the way to work. Post it for you tomorrow. I was only in CA for the time of boarding a plane twice. I really want to come back and do some sketching. I did something from the air. I will get it out.
    Beautiful!

This sounds like you have a great walk down the town. Thanks for sharing the snow scene of your place. That tiny sketchbook seem like a good medium to work with.

  3. My DH actually paused to look at this sketch closely. He liked it. I pointed out that we'd seen Mt. Baldy when we visited Claremont. I'm trying to figure out where the OTCP is!!Great work.

I really do live in a great place! The park is really a large sports complex with several ball fields and lots of lighting for night games. The park is in Riverside CA. I ventured there on my walk today to actually see the progress of a new community center and library which will open this summer. But the mountains drew my attention with all that snow!

  5. It was so beautiful today! Nathan and I went on a walk too! The mountains are so full of snow and we can enjoy it while staying in at 75 degrees down here! It makes me so excited for spring!
